Wellness Plan

Preventative care is essential to helping your dog or cat enjoy a long and healthy life. Most people think of vaccines as preventative for their pets. While vaccinations are an important part of preventative care, semi-annual examinations, annual lab work, and dental care are all essential to the wellbeing of your pet.

Exams

Each physical exam consists of a complete nose to tail exam which allows our veterinarians to get to know you and your pet as an individual. Our veterinarians recognize that no two dogs are the same and are dedicated to making medical recommendations based on your individual pet’s needs.

Comprehensive Lab Work

Diagnostics such as blood and urine tests screen for diseases that may not otherwise be detected through a physical exam and gives our veterinarians a more comprehensive view of your pet’s health. These tests provide early detection of disease by creating a baseline that can be followed for changes and aid in the management of chronic disease. This screening can add years to your pet’s life and is often less expensive than emergency treatment once a disease progresses.

Parasites

Internal parasites can cause many serious illnesses in our pets. Fortunately, most are easy to prevent. Blood parasite testing checks for the presence of heartworms, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasmosis. Fecal examinations are recommended by the Companion Animal Parasite Council twice yearly. Parasites such as hookworms and roundworms are zoonotic and can be transmitted to people.

Dental Care

Dental health is a very important part of your pet’s overall health. It is best to focus on preventative and maintenance dental care. Dental disease results in pain, infection, tooth loss, and issues in other parts of the body. 

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are an easy way to protect your dog or cat from life-threatening illnesses.
